Character info from the Employee Handbook
Finally got my copy of the handbook! These are little canon character tidbits that I thought were interesting. Let me know if I’ve missed anything.
Henry:
- California is listed as his top place he’d like to visit after leaving the studio
- His list of things to do when leaving has “take a hot bath” as the last thing
Joey:
- Thinks foie gras is disgusting and prefers mac and cheese
- Knows Bertrum’s full name and just calls him Bertie as a preference
- Has the record for highest bacon soup tower
- Elects himself employee of the month every month
- Got an invitation to attend Tom and Allison’s wedding, but declined
- Likes employees sharing their ideas and dreams with him
- His birthday is considered a holiday in the studio and everyone has to stay overtime to wish him happy birthday
- Fell asleep during a physics lesson during the math section in 12th grade
Sammy:
- Doesn’t see a problem with the way Joey is running things, and figures those who can’t handle it just aren’t cut out for the job
- Refers to people as sheep at one point (this was before he lost his mind)
- Sent out a reminder for people to be quiet while in the music department
- Has a secretary according to the employee charts
Susie:
- Was present at the meeting where Alice was introduced
- In her Angel Path tape, she notes that she “didn’t get the memo” about Allison. That’s because the memo was specifically directed to be given to all employees except her
- At her lunch with Joey, they both had bacon soup, someone had filet mignon while someone had linguini alfredo, someone had iced tea and someone had lemonade, and someone had strawberry cheesecake. The receipt doesn’t specify who ordered what
- (I’m assuming Joey had the linguini alfredo as it’s pretty similar to mac and cheese)
Allison:
- Likes to cook and try out recipes (implied by her letter at the end, but outright confirmed here)
- Parent’s names were Fredrick
- Presbyterian
- Her and Thomas were married on February 23rd, 1952
Wally:
- Ate something that he thought was a churro but apparently wasn’t (we never find out what it is)
- Later on it mentions “churros that aren’t being used as food but rather being used as-” which really only raises more questions
Norman:
- Confirmed cryptid (it’s mentioned that he’s a recluse and that tracking him down is difficult at times)
Thomas:
- Has a note telling people to stay out of the utility shafts for safety’s sake, and that some of them are being boarded off for this reason
- (interesting because this might have been where Joey and him were meeting when Jack saw them in his BATDR teaser tape, as the note’s in the section about the sewers and there’s a boarded-off area where Jack spawns)
- He’s at the studio because Gent offers a 10-year warranty and will send out a repairman if any of their products aren’t working the way they’re supposed to
- Not hired by JDS, but has a temporary office
- Middle initial is J
- Allison and him got married in a presbyterian church, so he either is presbyterian or he converted
Grant:
- Warned Joey not to overspend on personal projects
- Tried multiple times to warn Joey about the debt and was completely ignored, to the point where he was fielding calls from the IRS
- (This also fits well with him being a Striker, seeing as not only does he talk about things he shouldn’t but Joey also ignores everything he says, fitting with the stitched-up mouth)
- Has an entire department under him, including his own secretary
- It’s stated that he isn’t a “creative dreamer”, but he “dreams in numbers”, my headcanon about him having the creativity of a rock is canon
- Reports directly to Joey
- Also had to send out a lot of late payment notices to employees
Lacie:
- Confirmed to use female pronouns (this is pretty widely accepted now, but people weren’t sure of her gender when she first appeared and we never got canon confirmation)
