So I’m probably reading too hard into this, but I realized a bit of brilliant filmmaking trivia might have soaked into the new Ducktales

So at the very end we see the purple dye of Darkwing’s costume melt off as Jim goes mad and becomes Negaduck

One thing I was wondering was why the heck was his costume bright yellow and red underneath all the purple?

It then struck me: In this universe Darkwing Duck is an old TV-show. It was most likely on when black and white televisions were still a thing and during the era of black and white TV, bright colors made the monochrome pop better on film

Like the Adams Family house was actually painted in obnoxiously bright colors in order for it to look better in black and white

So at some point Darkwing’s costume must have been bright yellow and red in order to make it look better in black and white, and when color TV finally became a thing they dyed it over in purple!
