Christians are vastly more generous with charity and giving than democrats and liberals.
The difference is that one believes that charity should be from the heart the others believe it should be at gun point.
HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Charity is voluntary and with the taxes and multiple unconstitutional federal programs, the incentive to give more is reduced as the poor is already being provided for.
Where did Christ advocate for Roman soldiers to force charity at the point of the Roman spear?
Yeah the right is demonstrably more charitable than the left, and Christians even moreso. What crap is this?
The issue is, when the government takes my money to give to their charities, I can no longer give that money to my charities, and I no longer have a say over where the money goes. That sucks.
Exactly. After we’re milked for taxes, we still tithe, give to food pantries, donate to veteran charities, so on and so forth.
It would be better if we could just give the money straight to the charities ourselves without the government siphoning off a good portion for their “admin fees” and of course collection efforts and prosecution of people who either can’t or won’t pay their taxes.
I’m sure having everyone donate individually is an efficient way of allocating resources.
After everyone’s sent their money to Komen and the Salvation Army, what’s next?
It’s good that you can name two charities. It’s definitely a start. Once you start getting involved in your community though, you’ll learn the names of some of the more efficient local charities to volunteer and donate to. It’s really fun. I recommend it.
CareNet, Faith House, Brenna’s basement are a few my family is directly involved with to provide help to those in need
