Refugees hold asylum staff hostage
“Give us more money or we will cut your throat”Refugees in the South Italian town of Potenza receive food, clothing and a daily allowance. But unhappy with the quality of food and the amount of allowance, they held several staff members hostage in an attempted extortion.
Police thought they were responding to ‘regular’ unrest but found out several people were held hostage when arriving to the scene. The men had seen a large amount of money in the manager’s office, money that was likely meant to be distributed among the refugees, and decided to take him and an associate hostage at threat of cutting their throats.
The men tried to instigate a “real riot” among the rest of the refugees.
The three men, two from Gambia and one from Nigeria, were arrested but later released without further consequences.Italian paper Il Giornale claims that many migrants demand more money and “food that respects our origins”.
Deport them.
With a trebuchet.
Did you draw that yourself, @your-uncle-dave?
No, my daughters have all the drawing talent. Found that on Google.
