This Week on: Sonic The Hedgehog

Is no one gonna elaborate?

Short explanation: if Sonic’s clone is a girl it means that sonic could be afab

Long explanation:

In Sonic The Hedgehog 2 there was a glitch were Sonic’s palette would turn green and black, the fans named it evil sonic/ Ashura the hedgehog

Archie’s artist Ken Penders turned this concept into a character named Scourge The Hedgehog, aka anti-sonic; a sonic from a parallele universe, bizzarro style

He was a fan favorite but Penders wasnt really the best (Google Ken Penders lawsuits to check) and gived a lot of problems to Sega and in the end the Archie comics had to stop because of him, and now IDW pubblish sonic comics, and due how messy Archie sonic was, now Sonic Team has put a lot of rules of what the writers can or can not put in the comic.

Since they cant use Scourge anymore; IDW made a new character based on the green sonic glitch:

Surge the Tenrec; a clone of sonic made by Dr Starline! And since she is a clone and a girl; accidentally implies that sonic may be afab

Trans Sonic is real. Unleash the memes.

Okay so. This is painful so I’m going to be a bitch.

A clone being female does not mean the original is also female, because of the variation in X and Y chromosomes. Interestingly enough this also means that science shows you can’t (Naturally) make a XY clone of a XX person, because they’ll lack the Y to work with, but you can easily make a XX clone of an XY person, by duplicating the X, or excluding the Y.

Science is MY friend, is it yours?

Seriously this is as annoying as those ‘Samus is Trans’ stuff, you’re pulling the stuff entirely out of your own asses to make claims like this.

Tho of course by this it would make Surge Intersex, which is itself interesting.

Also, Surge isn’t actually a clone. She’s a copy.

Imposter Syndrome showed that both Surge and Kit used to be random people that Dr Starline acquired and enhanced. He added a modified strain of the Metal Virus in them, as well as other robotic implants and genetic science, in order to emulate Sonic and Tails’ abilities. Unfortunately, he couldn’t copy it completely so they had to be fitted with additional augmentations (Kit’s water pack and Surge’s electromagnetic propulsion). Relation-wise, it’s more accurate to call them distant cousins than anything else.

Oh and he also brainwashed her into hating Sonic for no reason, which gave her existential dread every time she thinks about it. It’s actually super fucked up and I love it.

#just bringing in sonic facts for the day#i should really read the rest of the idw series#the next issue of imposter Syndrome comes out in May btw

I mean her being a tenrec to begin with means she can’t be a clone because tenrecs and hedgehogs aren’t related or at the very least there’s some HEAVY genetic editing. Like the most common point going up the tree is they’re both mammalian, when you go one step down to order, they stop being related. The resemblance is convergent evolution, not divergent.

Ok wait…. I wanna jump back a bit and ask a question

So Wolverine is AFAB if his Clone is a Girl?

Is the Doctor as well?

>Is the Doctor as well?

Oh Pyro. You sweet summer child. It seems you don’t know about The Timeless Children.

Long story short, Chris Chibnall (current (but not for long) showrunner of Doctor Who) made it so that William Hartnell is no longer the First Doctor. Most fans had already walked away from the series by that point, but The Timeless Children made sure to get rid of most of the remaining fans.

wait what. i need an explanation for that. how is he not the first? dm me if you don’t want to reblog, but i need to know

Basically, the Doctor is some other race that the Time Lords tortured and murdered over and over and over so that they could gain the ability of regeneration. This was Chibnall’s attempt to make it so the Doctor could infinitely regenerate, but the Doctor also doesn’t know because he had a mental block of everything before The First Doctor (as in Hartnell).

If this sounds like bad writing, it’s because it is bad writing.

That’s gonna get retconned so fuckin’ fast.

Well Chibnall has already doubled down on the show to try and make that harder, but it’ll just be a bigger slap against him if they do retcon it anyway.

Frankly, I’d just retcon the entire 13th Doctor at this stage. There’s nothing salvageable from what I’ve heard, and while I’ve heard Whittaker is a decent actor for the role later on (I admittedly hate watched her first season), it’s easy to say it’s not her fault that the showrunner was a cunt towards fans and therefore it wasn’t her fault.

Also, the retcon should be a hard retcon. Like Ghostbusters did to the 2016 movie. Just outright denial of it existing at all.

Capaldi wakes up with a party hat and a bottle of champers in one hand, and says “what a bad dream!”

God, I can’t believe this is the second time I’ve seen a stupid head canon about a character being trans because they have a female clone. Saw this stupidity with Danny Phantom and now Sonic. Don’t know why people who froth at the mouth over transgender characters hyper focus on cis characters, makes no sense. I also find it funny they never try to say the clone is trans, like they’re a different gender than the original, I feel like they’d be the ones going through dysphoria… but then again they tend to not be the main characters so people don’t care. If this was some random, forgotten Sonic character that was actually trans, no one would be talking about it but because it’s a popular character, people are going out of their way to lie to make it seem canon.

They froth at the mouth because they are obsessed with “representation” and “diversity” to the point of unhealthily fetishizing it.

Yeah, pretty much. When I see representation I like, for instance Helmut Fullbear and Bob Zanatto from Psychonauts 2, it makes me happy, I like it, I will sing its praises but I don’t go “Psychonauts is gay, straighties don’t interact!” or all this other obnoxious shit these people do. Its cool, glad it happened, I move on with my life. These people meanwhile look for any instance of a popular character (because they don’t care about any other character if they aren’t in the limelight) possibly being gay or trans so they can latch on to it, acting like its the biggest thing ever. It really is unhealthy fetisization of LGBT elements and it makes me really uncomfortable.

To answer the X-Men question: Laura has DNA from the female doctor who made her mixed in with Wolverine’s. She’s technically more of a child of his than a clone.

> Yeah, pretty much. When I see representation I like, for instance Helmut Fullbear and Bob Zanatto from Psychonauts 2, it makes me happy,

See, it’s funny, because I found it mediocre and forced at best in the LP I watched. It’s like the writers expected us to care more about the couple just because they were gay.

I cared a lot more about Cassie and Compton’s friendship. But maybe that’s because I’m a tall avid reader with anxiety issues and multiple public personas, so I can relate to both.

Then again, I’m an insecure artist with parent issues, so I should relate to Helmet and Bob too.

People started doing this kind of sh*t for Green Eggs and Ham characters. God forbid two male characters be really close friends. NOPE. They actually really wanna bone each other. Someone find that quote of C.S. Lewis about those who never had a close friendship.

P.S. It’s really ironic when people start chucking out LGBT labels over stereotypes and cliches, while complaining about the same stereotypes and cliches.
