Thank you for your prayers

Death is always going to be death, but my grandmother had about the most ideal situation possible. She was in her hundredth year of life. She was surrounded by her children. She went peacefully in her sleep, no pain. I really believe the only reason she hung on as long as she did was for our sake because she had no fear of death. She held on long enough for my dad and his brother and sister to say goodbye. She was born in rural deep South Alabama in 1919. She put up with a lot of racist and sexist bullshit growing up, but she was the most resilient and loving person I ever knew. I will miss her, but I know she’s happier now.

Memory Eternal Grandma ❤️

Another good thing was that she died at home. That’s all she ever wanted, she hated being in hospital rooms.

Did your dad get there in time, @libertarirynn ?

He did!

@libertarirynn I lost both my of my great grandparents less than two years apart. My grandma died in the same room she was born in. She was also very loving and holy. Thank God your Dad got to see her one last time.

God bless!
