The supernatural fandom really does just see actors as dress-up dolls they can verbally harass and abuse on Twitter huh.

They get angry at the actors like they have any control over their characters and are not subject to the writers

Yup. Between this and the verbal and sexual harassment when one of the actors (one of the vocally anti-Trump actors) said “hey it sucks when anyone gets COVID including Trump,“ I’m beginning to see a pattern.

I’m scared to ask what happened

Supernatural spoilers apparently but I’m not in the fandom and everything I know has been against my will so this post is brought to you by Spite.

Popular ship in fandom is Male character 1/Male character 2. In most recent episode Male character 1 confesses his love for Male character 2. Male character 2 doesn’t reciprocate and apparently stands there with a conflicted look on his face. And then Male character 1 gets immediately sent to Hell²

(like Hell but worse™) because apparently he was cursed to have that happen if he was ever genuinely happy.

Cue Supernatural fans making all kinds of incredibly nasty comments about the actor of Male character 2, saying he’s a homophobe and was clearly holding back the urge to say slurs in that scene because… their ship was half confirmed and half debunked? And apparently that’s a thing the actors have control over and not the writers?

Oh! And the entire episode was apparently written by a gay man.

People with no real human interaction can’t process that a straight man may not want to fuck another man and has no idea how to react to a confession.

Boy I sure am glad I live in a world where Supernatural was five seasons long as God and Kripke intended.

And Male Character 2 has repeatedly denied that he’s gay.

Oh, wait, that’s this world.

Sarcasm aside, why couldn’t Character 2 be trying to figure out how to reject his close friend without hurting his feelings too much? That’s the normal person’s interpretation.
