When well meaning but misguided religious people insist on praying for you to be healed because of your disability
Why would you have a problem with that? You said it right in the original post that they’re well-meaning. Why do you feel the need to publicly announce that you reject the good intentions of religious people? Many people take prayer very, very seriously, and the fact that someone will take time to work into their prayers that they wish for your health and well-being is extremely kind. It astounds me that people are actually so inconsiderate and ungrateful that they will make and circulate a post to mock people of religion who pray for the well-being of others.
I’m not religious in the slightest and I could never even begin to understand piety. But I’m not such an asshole that I would essentially tell someone to fuck off when they do what amounts to expressing a deep desire for my health and happiness. How goddamn barren is your soul?
I’m just gonna add my two cents as well. I understand if fellow believers would want to pray for others, and that’s great! But you don’t have to make physical contact for that to happen, or even rope who you’re praying for into a session with you. After looking at some of the other comments’ stories, some sound like they want to be seen, or are overly religious. (Matthew 6: 1-34) says that we shouldn’t pray in public like that, or make lengthy prayers for that’s what the hypocrites do; as well as those who are keeping up appearances. I’m not making accusations, just suggestions. Pray privately, see blessings (for you and others) publicly (Matthew 6:6).
