White people love pulling that “Africans had slaves TOO!!!” And “slavery is still legal in Africa!!!1!1!” Card as if they have any fucking idea what they’re talking about
They are right though. In other countries they still have slavery
African!!!!! Slavery!!!!! Isn’t!!!!!! Slavery!!!!!! Read a damn book!!!!!
So when an African enslaves any race it’s not slavery to you and therefore acceptable?
Yet it’s Slavery when any other race does it?
I’ll copy and paste it for you too you dense ass eggshell colored bitch!!!!
Alright here’s a history lesson you won’t learn in school:
Most African economies were barter economies, or trade based economies. Because of this, being “paid” for labor is hard, because it’s much easier to make one large trade than lots of smaller trades. Therefore, rather than making many smaller trades to pay people for their labor, they would just make one large trade that would allow them to “own” the person for their labor, because (again) it was easier. That’s where the idea of “slavery” in other countries comes from.
This type of “slavery” is completely different because in 99% of situations, these “slaves” were treated exactly the same as everyone else, they still had all or most of their rights, and they were likely to be free again in their lifetime. It was never malicious, it was just the easiest way for trade-based economies to function. This is still common in trade-based economies because that’s what fucking works.
Bonus fact: over the course of about 1,000 years, only about 10,000 slaves were traded throughout all of North Africa and the Mediterranean. Europeans traded 12 million+ African slaves in 1/10 of that time.
You can’t equate what barter economies do in any way to European slavery because white people built their entire economies around keeping black people on the bottom. Africans were starved, whipped, raped, and worked to death. Sick slaves on ships were thrown overboard, still in chains. Slave ships were so unsanitary that they could be smelled from miles away. They were given no rights and had no way of earning freedom. They were viewed as animals. They were branded by their owners. After slavery was outlawed, the Spanish and the Portuguese continued to conduct “slave raids” where they would show up on the central west coast and invade villages, stealing people away from their homes and shipping them to the Americas. Tell me again how the two are in any way similar
“you dense ass eggshell colored bitch!!!!“
Actually I am more of a Creamy Olive but I surmise that that was meant to be an insult, cunt.
“Alright here’s a history lesson you won’t learn in school:”
No, I learned it unlike American Schools we have competent curriculum’s here.
“That’s where the idea of “slavery” in other countries comes from.”
Again, no Slavery comes from the Cradle of Civilization itself Mesopotamia.
Slavery, unlike today, was very prevalent and popular in ancient cultures and is very evident in the Mesopotamian society. The civilization which was known for its advancements in all the fields of livelihood was actually a primitive somewhat semi barbarian civilization.Slavery existed and loomed large all across Mesopotamia. Here are details.
In ancient times, crimes such as assaulting one’s elder brother or mother were punished by subjecting to slavery. Thus, slaves were mostly obtained from war captives and criminals. Slaves were made to wear skirts made of cloth that were tied along their waist, extending up to their knees and as long as the owner so desired.
It is widely believed that slavery came into being as a major institution with the development of agriculture, sometime around 10000BC. In ancient Mesopotamia as agriculture required labour, slavery was seen as a profitable way of exploiting war captives, warriors and civilians.
In ancient Mesopotamia Slavery was used to pay off debt and as chattel.
This Slavery has existed for tens of thousands of years far before Modern Europeans took African Slaves, but before Europeans took slaves the Arabs took slaves from Europe, Asia and Africa this was the Barbary Slave Trade it lasted Longer than the Atlantic Slave Trade and Still continues to this day, where is your outrage?
Europeans Ended Slavery in the West yet you are still whining.
“Bonus fact: over the course of about 1,000 years, only about 10,000 slaves were traded throughout all of North Africa and the Mediterranean. Europeans traded 12 million+ African slaves in 1/10 of that time.”
Bonus Fact: The Barbary Slave Trade Enslaved 1.25 million Europeans [these numbers do not include the European people which were enslaved by Morocco and by other raiders and traders of the Mediterranean Sea coast which is estimated 4x higher] 700 Americans were also made slaves, along with millions of Asians, Africans and Middle Easterners, the Time frame of this is for Europeans from
1450 – 1812 that is 362 Years, the Arab/Muslim/Barbary Slave Trade continues to this day with an estimated 30 million still in slavery in the Middle East and Africa.
Where is your Outrage?
You are Outraged that Europeans Enslaved Africans because you Harbour a racial Hatred towards Europeans, you are Racist.
Chattel Slavery in-case you didn’t know was introduced when a Black Man won life ownership over his Slaves in the US his name was “Antonio the negro“ or Anthony Johnson as he changed his name to,
He was brought to the colony in 1621. At this time, English and Colonial law did not define racial slavery; the census calls him not a slave but a “servant.” Later, Antonio changed his name to Anthony Johnson, married an African American servant named Mary, and they had four children. Mary and Anthony also became free, and he soon owned land and cattle and even indentured servants of his own.
n 1651 he owned 250 acres (100 ha), and the services of five indentured servants (four white and one black). In 1653, John Casor, a black indentured servant whose contract Johnson appeared to have bought in the early 1640s, approached Captain Goldsmith, claiming his indenture had expired seven years earlier and that he was being held illegally by Johnson. A neighbour, Robert Parker, intervened and persuaded Johnson to free Casor.
Parker offered Casor work, and he signed a term of indenture to the planter. Johnson sued Parker in the Northampton Court in 1654 for the return of Casor. The court initially found in favour of Parker, but Johnson appealed. In 1655, the court reversed its ruling. Finding that Anthony Johnson still “owned” John Casor, the court ordered that he be returned with the court dues paid by Robert Parker.
his was the first instance of a judicial determination in the Thirteen Colonies holding that a person who had committed no crime could be held in servitude for life.
Before this instance Chattel Slavery was not practiced in North America, the type of Slavery Practiced was the barter or servant Slavery you mention, people could earn their Freedom and be Acknowledged as Free Englishmen and could own Land and Slaves of their own.
Good Day.
If you think slavery is acceptable purely because of their skin colour, you are disgusting and racist.
Yeah you’re right I am racist and I hate all white people thanks for noticing
So you’re racist as well as ignorant. No surprise there
Slavery still exists in Africa. Today.
And the slaves that were sold to the Americas were not the barter economy bullshit you’re selling. They were Africans sold by Africans. That doesn’t absolve the Americas, both north and south, from their responsibility, but this narrative that white folk were mainly getting slaves by raiding is simply inaccurate. The slaves were already there, sacked up and awaiting purchase.
Yeah kid, you’re making shit up. And a fucking racist too. Go fuck yourself bloody you piece of shit
Well, at the very least she admitted she’s racist and didn’t pull the whole ‘I can’t be racist because I’m black’ bullshit. Small mercy, low bar, I suppose.
OP is selfish, ignorant and a sack of garbage. She cares more about blaming white people than caring about ongoing slavery today. She doesn’t care about slavery, she cares about blaming white people.
The absolute irony being that white people actually abolished slavery while several African and Middle Eastern nations have just happily continued the practice.
@twerkcircus is another Tumblr racist. What else is new when it comes to this site?
I love these threads where OP deactivated so they can’t block anyone.
Someone seriously tried to say there no slavery in africa? Are you serious????
Plus a Tumblr opinion surrounding race and/or history is US-centric…AGAIN.
