I love how Camilo describes Bruno as this horrifying freakishly tall monster who sees all and delights in the terror of others and then we actually meet Bruno and he’s literally just some guy

not enough tío Bruno and little Mirabel content out there so I’m here to provide
fun fact: alma absolutely had no idea that her kids would get magic powers when they turned 5 . who was gonna tell her? the candle?
she just wakes up one morning and sees three new doors in her house that she assumes are for her three kids, maybe their magic house decided that they’re old enough for their own rooms now bc it’s their birthday
the funky lightshow when they touch the doors is overshadowed by the fact that her son’s eyes immediately start glowing as wind whips around him and he turns to her holding up some strange green object and asks if they’re really having a surprise party in town later
alma’s shocked, she’s even more shocked when a small rainbow appears over her daughter’s head when she hears about the party, they all turn to look at julieta who just shrugs and pushes open her door to find a very cute child sized kitchen
the triplets are delighted to see that the rooms are bigger on the inside,
alma has to sit down somewhere and process whatever is happening
Antonio: Your rats talk about you a lot, you know.
Bruno: Well they’re not really MY rats, I mean-
Antonio: They think you’re a really hard worker, and they like that you always talk to them, even if you can’t understand them.
Bruno, tears welling in his eyes: Oh! Geez, I never thought-
Antonio: They also think your plotlines are contrived.
Bruno: CONTRIVED?!
~ HHHHHH Yes so. It’s easier to hide behind anger to not let true feelings flooding, especially when you have emotions and communication issues… And Pepa didn’t allow herself to think about Bruno much, the grief was too intense and a possible threat for the village weather-talking. Love you Pepa ( + Julieta being a comforting angel as often )
Just realized something:
So we all know the siblings colors are Blue (Julieta), Yellow (Pepa), and Green (Bruno), with Alma’s color being Red-ish Pink, and the Grandkids’ colors (besides Isabela for most of the movie) being Purple (Julieta’s side) and Orange with some Yellow (Pepa’s side). Well, just remembered that Green (Bruno’s color) is the complimentary color to Red (which is kind of Alma’s color and a bit of Isabella’s). Bruno’s color is opposite to Alma’s color. But that’s not all!
Blue and Red create Purple, so Julieta’s kids are mixed with her and Alma in a way. They are influenced by their Abuela. Yellow and Red create orange, which is kind of the color for Pepa’s kids. They are also influenced by Alma.
Blue, Yellow, and Red are all primary colors. Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Purple. Every color in this lineup is related to or similar to Red in some shape or form. But not Green.
Bruno is literally the only one whose color does not match with Alma’s, and is essentially a contradiction to it. And Isabela’s color for most of the movie is pink, also a direct opposite to green. Isabella is the golden child. Bruno’s color is opposite to that of the golden child.
Bruno is the odd color out.
God I love the color design for this movie like holy guacamole.
Ah! But green and red are complementary colors. Might be a reach, but maybe it can be seen as a representation of them agreeing with each other…despite being different. 💁🏾
idk if anyone has already pointed this out, but the visualization of the pressure that luisa was experiencing is so powerful to me.
like here, seeing luisa struggling to hold up the boulders on her shoulder to prevent her and mirabel from being crushed. seeing her struggle like this, especially after having seen what she’s capable of with literally picking up a church and kicking a house to set it straight, it’s like you can feel the weight yourself. and as soon as she’s able to get a hold and lift them up, she’s crushed by the weight of casita landing on her, it being too much for her to hold. it’s showing that, no matter how much she’s already dealing and struggling with, her family and their expectations just dump so much more on top of her. but a second later
we see her lifting up casita. and not just lifting, but tossing her up and proceeding to balance and roll her around with her feet. this isn’t just showing us her physical strength but her emotional strength as well. and it’s also giving us a visual representation of the pressure she feels to hold the house up, “handle every family burden”, and not let her family down, despite how much she’s struggling to do so. she’s supposed to be the strong one of the family who can hold and handle anything and everything. and on top of that,
she has the pressure and expectations of the entire encanto as well. she feels the pressure of their entire town on her shoulders, including the friggin sun. and obviously this is what the whole song is about, but damn. these scenes literally made me feels stressed and anxious. seeing luisa’s feelings visualized the way they are just makes it hit to much harder. it’s the details people, the details 😭
Volume warning I’m so sorry (and lots of cursing) and a bit of cough-up sludge at the end
“Imma put my rat on the mic”
Also needless to say not canon for the au EJHEJEG
Me watching the number fluctuate between 93 and 95 for ~two weeks like
Okay now theyre just TAUNTING me 😂
Oh-ho-ho, here we go again. Will the ever-oscillating number go up or down tomorrow? STAY TUNED
OoooOOOOOOO WE GOT UPWARD MOVEMENT PEOPLE WILL IT CONTINUE?
*earlier today*
It’s fine, the fluctuation is performing as expected.
*this evening*
Here we go again! Let’s see if it makes it to 97 before reversing this time!
(Btw for anyone who doesn’t want to see my ridiculousness as I enjoy this game Ive invented far too much, I shall be tagging them with #countdownandupanddown if you’d like to block!)
OH WE’RE GETTIN CLOSE NOW GUYS AND GALS
OH MY STARS YOU GUYS
So the fluctuation continued but I stopped reblogging each one because it literally went 98-97-98-97-98 and I didnt figure anyone was gonna enjoy the joke THAT long (and honestly it wasnt bugging me, I still think the almost CONSISTENT two-steps-forward-one-step-back is funny.) Then earlier today it was at 1799 and I was like “Haha wouldnt it be neat if I hit the long-awaited pretty round number on Twosday” well gUESS WHAT GANG
(Bird on left is me, bird on right is everyone else probably)
Oh oh and just for an added bit of fun GUESS what time it was when I glanced at the clock on my phone as I was excitedly going to post this:
What is the relevence of this, you may ask? It’s not super relevant except that it’s my birthday which is just one more neat coincidence to add to the pile. Kinda like “Happy Twosday birthday to ME!”
And now you wont have to worry about me doing this countdown post anymore I promise XD Thank you for indulging me, and HAPPY TWOSDAY
😂 I can totally see this, I use to do this. Camilo and Mirabel are partners in crime.
