This is my little sister Ilana. Ilana is 16 years old, and she turns 17 at the end of August. On June 27th, she was admitted to the hospital because she was dehydrated, and puking. The doctors thought she just had appendicitis, or a kidney stone, so they did a CAT scan on her abdomen. The doctors saw fluid around her chest area, which can hardly be seen in the abdomen scan. So, the doctors performed an upper body scan and they found that Ilana had fluid around her heart, and a mass by her heart aswell. The doctors believed it was cancer, so they performed a biopsy on her the next day to confirm if it was or not. A few days ago, we got the call letting us know that Ilana did indeed have cancer. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and has to undergo 3 months of chemo, and will most likely lose all of her hair.

Recently, my mom set up a P.O. Box so Ilana could receive letters or presents from friends and family to help her through this hard time. Sadly, my sister does not have a lot of friends, which worries me that she won’t get as many letters as she deserves. All I’m asking from you guys is to just send kind words of encouragement to her, or anything that you think will help her out while she goes through the long process of beating cancer!

This was written by a little 6 year old girl. I babysit her and her two sisters – Rebecca and Mia, and before they go to bed they all sit down and write little prayers to God.

This was the one that Hollie wrote last time, and it absolutely broke my heart. I mean, she’s six years old and she thinks she’s not beautiful. That’s not right. But she is beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. She’s got golden blonde hair, bright green eyes and a smile so beautiful that you melt a little inside when you see it.

When their mum got home, I showed her Hollie’s prayer, and she was devestated. She’s a nurse so she’s seen a lot of horrible things, but I have never seen her like that. And so I had to do something.

If you’re reading this, and if you have the slightest bit of a heart, please reblog this, so that I can prove to Hollie that she is beautiful, and that she is so special, and that God made her exactly the way she is because He knows that He made her perfect. Please give this beautiful little girl the confidence she deserves.

I am absolutely disgusted with my culture. this little girl sounds incredibly pretty and like someone that could make me smile even on one of my roughest days.
