#male privilege
This just goes hand-in-hand with that Reddit post about innocent well-meaning inconsiderate stuff the men just don’t do anymore.

Had I been the father (or even the daughter), I would be wrestling with myself over burning the place down. At the very least, I’d have a plan to sneak raw fish into several points along the ventilation system.
This is so incredibly gross. Cultural attitudes like this that assume fathers have ill-intent to their children are part of why men end up less involved as caretakers. If we want women not to feel pressured to do the bulk of child care, we have to normalise men being involved in their children’s lives.
It seems to me a cyclical process. Assumption of ill-intent to children is part of why men end up less involved, but also a relative lack of involvement overall is part of how the assumption forms. I figure we should talk about this before someone contributes with the standard feminist apologia of patriarchy-enforced gender roles hurting men too. Because this particular problem is still getting worse. Things were not as bad on this front thirty, twenty, or even ten years ago. That is not a trend we should expect, in a problem patriarchy was causing/worsening, that feminism was (even indirectly) addressing. Something else is feeding this.
Feminism is the ideology that disseminates the idea that all men are inharenrtly predators. Anyone trying to say stuff like this is a result of the patriarchy backfiring is a moron.
