I believe in God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, and His Son Jesus, who died for our sins that we may have everlasting life in Heaven, and who is the only path to Heaven.

but what if there were other places to go to besides heaven/hell?

There aren’r according to my faith. We can sit here and what-if all day long and still be no closer to truth.

@inarticulate-expression
we wouldn’t be Christian if we didn’t have faith in that. We don’t
believe in Buddha or Nirvana, therefore Buddhism is not the true
religion. We don’t believe in the Hindu Gods so therefore we believe
Hinduism is not the true religion. We believe in Jesus so therefore we
believe that Judaism is not the true religion.

That probably
sounds horrible and I certainly would be more delicate in how I would
put it, but a religious person would not be really religious if they
didn’t have some conviction they were right. That goes for all religions
– particularly monotheistic ones. I suppose polytheistic ones COULD
combine religions, but even then certain tenants wouldn’t really mesh.

It doesn’t mean that I should not embrace a Jew or a Buddhist or a Hindu as my brother. It simply means I do not think their path is right. Shocker, I can get along with people in spite of my belief differences. X)

I
would say it’s rude and uncouth to constantly rub these topics into
other people’s faces, because like Uncle Dave said, we could sit here
and argue and achieve nothing. However, at the end of the day, I must
question if someone is a true Christian if they do not believe in one
God whose word is recorded in the Bible.

One thing I will note
is that at the end of the day, it’s His call. And I do pray that Jesus
not judge based on misplaced faith – I mean, I don’t really have
‘evidence’ that my faith is the one true faith. …that’s why it’s called
faith – I have no insurance or evidence and I’m using something other
than empiricism and logic to go with this path, as I’ve fallen in love
with a man who washed the feet of his disciples in spite of his divine
status.

inb4gay4jesus jokes.

Hope that clarifies things a little, and Uncle Dave can correct me if I have said something that’s rather non-Christian.

Nothing to correct, my friend.
