when was the last time you found time in your life? time to turn off the lights? to pause in the stillness? to sit without distraction? to disappear into the distilled and stripped back movements of His presence? when was the last time you willingly sat and waited for your saviour to turn up, with no agenda, no noise, no words and no music — when you pushed aside your worldly priorities to simply and willingly sit and wait, in pure, inexcusable, incomprehensible silence; in patience and expectation for His remarkable and unmistakably gentle whisper? when was the last time that you reminded yourself of who He is in you, and found contentment in that there is no one else for you, but Jesus, and His sovereignty? when was the last time you cleared your schedule and gave Him the best of your day? when was the last time you found the pure rich and thorough flooding of His goodness and faithfulness, by merely waiting on His surety to show. when was the last time you didn’t spend days, weeks and months trying to climb out of your valleys and up your mountains — but instead embraced the dry and barren lands and seasons, by lifting your hands in a sweet surrender to His grace; and in a desire to find that He is in fact, most active in your trials, not most absent. when was the last time you were still, in the revelation of knowing He IS God? when was the last time you found your every delight and joy in His peaceful and calm presence? when was the last time you retreated to an intimate moment with Him, in the middle of an event filled with crashing symbols, tumultuous tracks and shoutings of praises and worship that resounds from the stage to the very back of the room? when was the last time you gave Him you, not as an exhibition, not as a performance or as a routine. not as an act of expectation, or requirement.. but as an act of reverence and honour? when was the last time you stripped back your lights, your sound, and your ideas of how He moves, speaks and ministers; and simply found His goodness and faithfulness in the quiet whisper? do yourself a favour — embrace Psalm 46:10 for yourself, and be captivated in the wonder of His presence. #100daycreativechallenge
