noperopesaredope:

Just realized something:

So we all know the siblings colors are Blue (Julieta), Yellow (Pepa), and Green (Bruno), with Alma’s color being Red-ish Pink, and the Grandkids’ colors (besides Isabela for most of the movie) being Purple (Julieta’s side) and Orange with some Yellow (Pepa’s side). Well, just remembered that Green (Bruno’s color) is the complimentary color to Red (which is kind of Alma’s color and a bit of Isabella’s). Bruno’s color is opposite to Alma’s color. But that’s not all!

Blue and Red create Purple, so Julieta’s kids are mixed with her and Alma in a way. They are influenced by their Abuela. Yellow and Red create orange, which is kind of the color for Pepa’s kids. They are also influenced by Alma.

Blue, Yellow, and Red are all primary colors. Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Purple. Every color in this lineup is related to or similar to Red in some shape or form. But not Green.

Bruno is literally the only one whose color does not match with Alma’s, and is essentially a contradiction to it. And Isabela’s color for most of the movie is pink, also a direct opposite to green. Isabella is the golden child. Bruno’s color is opposite to that of the golden child.

Bruno is the odd color out.

God I love the color design for this movie like holy guacamole.

Ah! But green and red are complementary colors. Might be a reach, but maybe it can be seen as a representation of them agreeing with each other…despite being different. 💁🏾
