Okay, but I would like teachers to be able to respond to (perhaps not answer) the questions from the training: how does the school want teachers to handle those questions? What age ranges apply? How can questions be directed to parents in a useful way that builds connection?
The questions will exist regardless of the teacher’s ability to respond to them. Teachers should not be thrown in without at least some coaching that these questions could come up, particularly among certain grades.
Let’s be real here, most kids won’t even begin to know how to ask this unless: A. An adult exposed them to these things or B. The adults were negligent and leave the kid browsing the web by themselves. Either way, it’s a cause for concern and should be brought up at a parent teacher meeting or something. As for how to respond, maybe something like, “I’m sorry ___ but we’re not going to ask questions like that here. That’s not for us to answer.”
