Turns out loving your “work” is a far cry from loving your industry. Who knew?
Anyway look out for my new show, coming to a streaming platform near you where it will be buried under a monsoon of nigh-identical dogshit
*whoosh
yes also if they actually talked to a black person they’d know that “the hood black” and “the white friendly nerd black” are very serious stereotypes that alienate black people. just becuase theres and lgbt character or poc character doesnt mean that that character is written well/realistic or even liked by lgbt or poc people. often times there inclusion Is solely for profit which is why black artists are so adamant about asking for exposure and support especially if it can help them be on the concept teams to help write better black characters that are realistic as opposed to those stereotypes. remember the 90s where the main character was always white usually male and always had the “black (usually a nerd) friend sidekick” stereotype. we even see it in the danny phantom, the Loudhouse, hey Arnold, aj in fairly odd parents, grim adventures, and I’m sure theres many more in live action shows.. the proud family and static shock were exceptions to these but there weren’t many shows like them and they weren’t given as long as a run as other shows. we NEED DIVERSITY IN OUR ANIMATIONS YES BUT IF THEY DONT PAY THEIR WORKERS PROPERLY OR ALLOW FOR MINORITIES TO HELP WRITE THE CHARACTERS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE LGBT OR THEIR ETHNIC BACKGROUND THEN THAT CHARACTER ISNT ACTUALLY SUPPORTING DIVERSE NARRATIVES
