FINALLY DONE! Props to whoever does this kind of stuff daily! @–@ This exercise was long but fun. I got to use perspective, lighting, mood and other stuff more than usual. This also serves as my first look into the Black Baron’s main hall. The original Super 4 belongs to Method Animation and Morgen Studios.
Totally serious enemies guys. Don’t mind their changing clothes. 😗I was practicing traditional inking and digital coloring in order to see how good it looked. While I feel the lineart is better, the quality is less than digital. I might just scan in sketches and ink digitally after all. :/ (Digital linearts are the lower ones in case you can’t tell.) Edit: Actually, now that I look at it, it’s not bad.

Woo! These guys were fun to redesign! I realized that I didn’t draw the original Koloss unfortunately, but I hope this new look makes up for it (he gets no love already 🙁 ). Again, I wanted to retain as much as could of their original designs. I also gave them distinct swords for further diversity.
I based the Baron off of Henry VIII’s fashion a bit, he was made for it. In my interpretation he’s very stylish and vain (and probably wasted a good deal of coin on appearances).
I felt that Rypan needed more armor (and rockin’ wolf head pauldrons). At the cost of slight anime-hair. A cape wouldn’t hurt either.
Fourchesac, I actually kinda liked his original outfit, though it looked a little like a hoodie/pajamas. Shame he never really wore his hood, as far as I know. So I added a plague mask motif on it (I like to imagine that he posed as a doctor to King Kendrick in the beginning). His staff was cool as it was, so other than coloring the branches on the top, I did nothing else. Lastly, I wanted someone to have those pointed shoes commonly seen in medieval art, so I gave those (way too many people have boots).
Koloss’ original design was fairly solid I think. Though I got rid of all the buckles he had on his chest (far too many I think). His shield was the most fun to draw. After rewatching the show, I noticed he had skin exposed under his helmet and pauldrons, so I fixed that. I also added breathing holes in his helmet (lest he suffocate and die).

More Super 4! This time the villains! Although I really wouldn’t call
Dr. X an outright villain. Narcissistic and selfish yes, but not
intentionally malevolent like the others. If anything, the Fairy Queen
is certainly closer to one. She’s vindictive and petty– flinging around
spells at simple disagreements. Even when Twinkle fixed the supposedly
irreversible curse, she still tried to punish her. The only
difference between her and the witches is a brighter color palette. I
really think Gardenia would make a great name for her though.
Also,
I LOVE the witches outfits! I find that they look more distinct and
unique compared to the fairies. I’m even happier knowing the two other
witches technically had names in an episode (Turnips and Old Lace)!
P.S. Why does Fourchesac have such pretty eyes?!
